We met Sarah Schwefel, also known as cannabis advocate Rising_Zebra on Instagram, at MJ Bizcon in Las Vegas. In August 2020, she became certified in endocannabinoid medicine by the American Journal of Endocannabinoid Medicine, which allows her to better help other patients and herself medicate with cannabis as needed. 

She uses cannabis for her chronic illness. She has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which is a connective tissue disorder that impacts her body’s ability to produce collagen. She struggles with perpetually dislocating joints, blurry vision, gastrointestinal issues, heart problems, and numerous spine problems caused by this disorder.

After going from doctor to doctor seeking relief from her symptoms and being told there was nothing that could be done, Sarah turned to cannabis.
